I'm a high school teacher who is passionate about being the best teacher I can be for my students. I'm interested in incorporating technology, humour and fun into my classes to help foster a love of learning.
I grew up on the farm (hence the hay bales photo...although I must point out in all honesty that these aren't my dad's hay bales. Sorry Dad!) and even though I now live in the big city, I'm still a farm girl at heart with all the small town values that I learned growing up in a tiny Alberta farming community. Teaching has almost always been in my blood. I started with teaching Sunday School and it went from there. I caught the Social Studies bug after a high school trip to Europe in grade 10. All that history and all those stories...my career path was set! I am part of a family of teachers as my mom was a teacher and my sister is a teacher as well. My philosophy in teaching isn't overly complicated. Build solid relationships with students, tell engaging stories and make your classroom a safe and caring place where everyone is welcome. All ideas matter and there is no such thing as a bad question. |
